Before anything is permanent
Ask first. Decide later.
You do not have to know what you want before you get in touch. Asking costs nothing and does not book anything. Mugi reads these herself and answers them herself.
If you already know what you want, the booking system is open and you do not need this page at all.
Book on VagaroAsk Mugi about your brows
Three things are required, and the photographs are not among them.
The hour before the machine is switched on
Most of a first appointment is not tattooing. It is looking, measuring and drawing, with a mirror in your hand, until the shape on your face is one you actually want. Nothing becomes permanent until you say so, and there is no limit on how many times you change your mind before that.
If you have been thinking about this for a year or two and keep stopping, the rest of this page is the part you have not been able to find anywhere else: what actually happens, in order.
What happens, in order
- 01
You talk first
What you have had done before, what you have been told, what you keep coming back to, and what you are afraid of. If you have had permanent makeup before, Mugi needs to know roughly when and roughly what, because old pigment underneath changes what is possible.
- 02
She looks before she talks
Bone structure, the hair you already have, how asymmetric you are (everyone is), how your skin behaves, and your undertone. This is the part that takes the longest and produces no visible progress, and it is the part that decides the result.
- 03
The shape is drawn on your face
Mapped and drawn in pencil, then adjusted, with a mirror between every change. Front, arch, tail. You are allowed to say no to a shape as many times as you need to. If you cannot get to a shape you are happy with, the appointment ends there and nothing is tattooed.
- 04
You get the honest read
What will suit you, what will not, what your skin will probably do while it heals, and where the reference photo you brought will not work on your face. Where it is true, that includes being told to wait, to choose a different technique, or not to do this at all.
- 05
Only then does anything become permanent
After you have approved the drawn shape out loud. The first pass is deliberately lighter than most people expect, because pigment is easy to add later and hard to take back. If you leave thinking it looks softer than you imagined, that is the intended result.
When the answer is no
Saying no is part of the work rather than a failure of it. The usual reasons are old pigment that needs lightening before anything new can sit on top of it, a reference photo that would not suit your face, a skin condition or medication that means waiting, or an expectation that no technique can meet.
If that is the answer, you get it early, out loud, with the reason and with what to do instead. If you want to know what an appointment that ends this way costs, ask before you book.
Whether or not you go ahead, you leave knowing the shape that was agreed, the technique, the price, the two-session timeline and what healing will probably look like.
The practical part
- Asking a question
- Free. Send a question, and a photo if you like. A photo gives Mugi enough for a first opinion, and nothing is booked.
- An appointment
- The procedure itself, booked on Vagaro at the published price. It starts with the design time, and there is no separate consultation appointment to book or pay for.
- How long the appointment takes
- Two to three hours for a first session, including the design hour. The second session is shorter.
- How many sessions
- Two. Density is built across both rather than forced into one, and the second happens about six weeks later, once the first has healed.
- What it costs
- Soft powder and ombre brows, and the combination brow, are $600. Nano hair strokes are $650. Each covers the design time, the appointment itself and vegan pigments. Ask Mugi how the six-week follow-up is charged before you book, so the cost is settled before your appointment rather than at it. Later touch-ups are priced by how long it has been.
- What to bring
- Photos of brows you like and, more usefully, brows you do not. Knowing what you want to avoid is often clearer than knowing what you want.
- When she is there
- Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 5pm. Closed Sunday.
- Who does the work
- Mugi, from the first question to the six-week follow-up. There is nobody to hand you over to.
The full price list, including all four touch-up intervals, is on the prices page. If you have had permanent makeup before and want to know whether it can be worked over, start here instead.
If you already know what you want
You can book the procedure directly. It still starts with the design hour above, on the day.
